Adrian, MI – The JC/LISD Academy is giving high school students a unique opportunity to get ahead by earning both a high school diploma and up to 60 college credits—at no cost to families. Through the Michigan Department of Education's Four Plus One Program, students can complete their high school education while also working toward an associate degree in just five years.

This program is open to all types of students—whether they’re motivated and ready for advanced coursework or looking for a fresh start in a different learning environment. By blending high school and college, the Academy helps students gain valuable experience, build independence, and prepare for a successful future.

For many families, the Academy has been life-changing. Kelsey Tabbert, a parent of a current student, shared how the program has provided the right balance of structure, independence, and support for her daughter. She emphasized how the Academy’s environment has helped her child feel valued, safe, and capable of adapting to new challenges—something she describes as “everything we could have ever asked for in an educational experience.”

To help interested families learn more, the JC/LISD Academy is hosting a Shadow Day on April 2nd. Prospective students will experience a typical day at the Academy, and parents will have the opportunity to connect with families of current students to hear firsthand about their experiences.
