Adrian, MI, February 26, 2025 One full-term seat and two partial-term seats on the Lenawee Intermediate School District (LISD) Board of Education will be up for election in June.

Board members are elected by the boards of education from the LISD’s 11 constituent school districts. The LISD Board of Education has one monthly meeting, with periodic special meetings.

The terms of current LISD board members Kathryn Mohr, Dale Wingerd, and Richard Germond will be complete on June 30, 2025.  The terms up for election include the following:

·       One (1) six-year term – July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2031

·       One (1) partial term – July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2029

·       One (1) partial term – July 1, 2025, through June 30, 2027

Per section 380.614 (3) of the Revised School Code, not more than two members of the intermediate school board shall be from the same school district.

Those interested in becoming candidates for the LISD Board have until Friday, May 2, 2025, by 4:00 p.m. to file nominating petitions with at least 40 registered voter signatures or remit a nonrefundable fee of $100.

Nominating petitions are available at the Lenawee County Clerk’s office, 425 N. Main St., Adrian. A notarized Affidavit of Identity form must also be filed simultaneously with the Lenawee County Clerk’s office.

The election will take place at a special LISD Board meeting at 5:30 p.m. on June 2 at the LISD William J. Ross Education Service Center, 4107 N. Adrian Hwy. Adrian, MI 49221
