Chelsea Ekquist is an alumni of the LISD TECH center and a graduate of Columbia College in Chicago with a BA in Directing for Production. She has held a variety of video and audio positions including Director, Producer, Master Control Operator, Studio Engineer, Art Director, Videographer, Photographer, and more. Chelsea has won special awards including the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Award, Midwest Emmy Nominee, New York Film Festival Student Emmy Winner, Hugo Award Winner, and the First Look Film Festival Short Film Showcase Winner. She previously worked for LISD TV Channel 22, was a former Teaching Assistant for the Video & Audio Production program, and has special education training as well.

Those employed in this field combine technical ability and artistic creativity to film TV shows, movies, commercials and documentaries. With improvements in video and internet technology making video more accessible and affordable for businesses of all sizes, computer video skills will become more useful.
Program Description
Students who have a passion for videography and photography will enjoy this Digital Media Production program!
Students will use professional audio and video editing software to produce video shorts from conception to completion. Students will be able to ditch auto focus and make their first viral video, short film, or podcast. Students will also have the opportunity to work for LISD TV Channel 22 right here in Lenawee County! This program teaches digital video and audio and photography editing techniques including editing, remastering, and retouching. Once students understand the basics they will be ready to hit the ground running as media entrepreneurs!

Successful students typically have strong computer skills, are creative, enjoy hands-on activities, have good communication and time-management skills, meet deadlines and work well with customers.

2023 Photography Gallery
While many may assume that Digital Media Production focuses solely on video and audio projects, students also develop photography skills. For this gallery project, Students chose their favorite photo from projects they completed during the school year and submitted them to their instructor. The photographs were then printed, framed, and displayed at full resolution in the hallway by their classroom to showcase their skills. You can view the photographs in the virtual gallery below.

Hunter Nino is an alumnus of the LISD TECH Center Video and Audio Production program and a graduate from Siena Heights University. Hunter majored in criminal justice with a minor in behavioral science. Nino graduated from Siena Heights University and became a police officer for just over three years. After leaving the force to pursue his passion in filmmaking, he now co-owns a movie production company (Horror Dadz Productions) that operates across the United States. Hunter has appeared, produced, or worked on over 30 independent horror movies. Nino has acted as a Director, Producer, Actor, Location Manager, Dub Coordinator, and more. Many awards won by Horror Dadz include best actor, best supporting actor, best director, best film, best sound, best cinematography, and multiple film festival awards. Hunter is looking forward to sharing his filmmaking passion with the students in Digital Media Production.
