Project SEARCH is a one year, post-secondary, transition-to-work internship program for students with disabilities whose goal is competitive, local employment. Project SEARCH is a collaboration between Lenawee ISD and ProMedica Charles and Virginia Hickman Hospital, with support from partner agencies and organizations.

This program takes place entirely within a hospital setting, where interns experience a combination of classroom instruction and hands-on training through multiple worksite rotations. This allows interns to explore and develop transferable work skills in a variety of career paths. Using a personalized, team approach, Project SEARCH then helps interns acquire paid employment within their community. Project SEARCH offers ongoing support after completion, including long-term coaching for interns and resources for families.
